NYC Mayoral Candidates Set for Final Debate

With early voting days away, New York City’s mayoral hopefuls meet Wednesday for the second and final debate at 7 p.m. Eastern. Democrat Zohran Mamdani, 34, holds a double-digit lead, with independent Andrew M. Cuomo, 67, second and Republican Curtis Sliwa, 71, third. The 90-minute event airs on Spectrum News NY1 and WNYC, with a YouTube livestream. Last week’s debate turned combative: Mamdani pressed Cuomo on affordability; Sliwa jabbed that he was “no Mario Cuomo”; Cuomo questioned Mamdani’s experience. Afterward, Cuomo branded Sliwa a spoiler; Sliwa refused to exit. Early voting begins Oct. 25; the general election is Nov. 4.
