NFL suspends Broncos linebacker Greenlaw after referee threat

The NFL suspended Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw one game without pay for post-game comments toward referee Brad Allen following Denver’s 33-32 win over the Giants. Citing Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1(b), the league said Greenlaw chased Allen and verbally threatened him as the official left the field; a video shows their interaction. Linebacker Justin Strnad also appeared to address Allen and apparently slap him somewhat forcefully in the back. Greenlaw has the right to an expedited appeal. The Broncos face the Cowboys on Sunday in Denver.
