Israeli Strikes Follow Disputed Ceasefire Breach Claims

Israel launched air strikes across Gaza after officials accused Hamas of violating a US-brokered ceasefire, including an attack on soldiers and failures over returning hostages’ remains. At least 33 Palestinians were killed, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run Civil Defence and hospital officials, with hits on homes, schools and a courtyard at al-Shifa hospital. Hamas denied involvement and postponed returning a body, citing Israeli “violations.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “forceful strikes,” while US Vice-President JD Vance said the truce was holding.
