Mahomes rushing TD puts Chiefs ahead of Lions

Detroit opened with a 14-play march, saw a trick-play touchdown erased by illegal motion, and settled for a field goal. Kansas City answered by going for it on fourth down, with Patrick Mahomes finding Xavier Worthy for a score before a missed extra point. Jameson Williams’ catch-and-run put the Lions back in front, then Kerby Joseph exited with trainers. A string of fourth-down gambles followed—some converted, some denied—before Mahomes kept on an option and strolled in to restore a 13-10 Chiefs lead, set up by a pass interference and a dart to Travis Kelce.
