Browns' Shedeur Sanders to back up Dillon Gabriel vs. Steelers

In Berea, coach Kevin Stefanski named rookie Shedeur Sanders the Cleveland Browns' backup quarterback behind starter Dillon Gabriel for Sunday's divisional road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Stefanski, who had weighed Sanders against practice-squad passer Bailey Zappe after Tuesday's trade of Joe Flacco to Cincinnati, said he wanted to be "intentional" with young quarterbacks. Sanders, a fifth-round pick and previously the club's No. 3 and emergency option, said he sees "a light at the end of the tunnel" and will focus on helping Gabriel prepare while staying ready.
