Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said four men were killed Wednesday in a U.S. airstrike on an alleged drug boat in the Eastern Pacific, posting an “unclassified” video and citing President Donald Trump’s direction. The attack follows Monday strikes on four alleged drug vessels that killed 14, and is the 14th since Sept. 2, with more than 60 fatalities overall. Hegseth offered no origin for the boat. The announcement coincided with a Republicans-only Senate briefing on operations off Venezuela, a move Democratic Sen. Mark Warner condemned as “indefensible and dangerous.” The Pentagon did not immediately comment.
