2 more charged in Louvre jewel heist, 3 released from custody

Paris prosecutors said two people arrested over last month’s Louvre Museum robbery have been formally charged, and both denied involvement. Two others were charged this week: a 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, accused of organized robbery and conspiracy and remanded in custody. Three of the five people arrested on Oct. 29 were released. The Oct. 19 heist saw four masked thieves steal eight pieces of jewelry worth $102 million in seven minutes. The jewels remain missing. Recent arrests occurred as suspects tried to leave for Algeria and Mali. The investigation is ongoing.
