June Lockhart, the television matriarch of Lassie and Lost in Space, died Thursday at her Santa Monica home of natural causes, her family spokesman Lyle Gregory said Saturday. She was 100. The daughter of actor Gene Lockhart, she became a star on CBS as Ruth Martin and Maureen Robinson, and later appeared in Petticoat Junction, General Hospital, Knots Landing and The Colbys. Offscreen she defied her gentle image, embracing rock 'n' roll and adventure. Gregory said she was very happy to the end, reading the New York Times and LA Times daily.
