Manning throws for 3 TDs as No. 20 Texas hangs on to beat No. 9 Vanderbilt 34-31

Arch Manning, returning from a concussion, threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns, opening No. 20 Texas with a 75-yard strike to Ryan Wingo on the first snap and a 24-3 halftime cushion. The Longhorns led 34-10 in the fourth before Diego Pavia’s late surge — a rushing score and two TD passes, the last with 33 seconds left — cut it to 34-31. Vanderbilt’s onside kick skittered out of bounds, sealing Texas’ fourth straight win. Texas sacked Pavia six times; he finished with a career-high 365 passing yards.
