4.9 million pounds of frozen, boneless chicken have been recalled

Hormel Foods is recalling nearly 4.9 million pounds of frozen boneless chicken after customers reported finding metal, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Saturday. Hormel traced the metal to a production conveyor belt. The Fire Braised breast and thigh products, sold only to food service and distributed nationwide to HRI Commercial Food Service from Feb. 10 to Sept. 19, have no reported injuries or illnesses. Hotels, restaurants and cafeterias are urged to discard any affected stock. Hormel said it notified customers; questions can go via its website or 1-800-523-4635.
