US Grand Prix: McLaren blame rivals for Oscar Piastri-Lando Norris collision in sprint race

At the US Grand Prix sprint start, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were taken out after Piastri clipped Nico Hulkenberg and bounced into his teammate, also sidelining Fernando Alonso. McLaren chiefs Zak Brown and Andrea Stella blamed rivals—Brown called the front “amateur hour” and said Hulkenberg hit Piastri; Stella lamented a lack of prudence from experienced drivers, pointing to Hulkenberg and Alonso. Others differed: Damon Hill felt Piastri misread Turn 1. Piastri said he cut back on Norris and was hit; Norris, Alonso and Hulkenberg each said circumstances left them no room.
