Lions safety Brian Branch, already fined more than $100,000 over his first three seasons, sparked a fracas after Detroit’s loss to the Chiefs. After Patrick Mahomes’ final kneel-down, NBC showed Branch refusing a handshake, exchanging words with JuJu Smith-Schuster, then striking him with an open hand before appearing to throw another punch as players separated them. Running back Isiah Pacheco pulled Branch away. Mahomes told NBC they play 'in between the whistles' and would keep momentum. Branch, questionable with an ankle, had seven tackles. NFL discipline is pending, and further fines or a suspension are possible.
