Hamas releases Israeli hostages, Trump gets standing ovation in Israel's parliament

President Trump declared the Gaza war over and drew a standing ovation in Israel’s Knesset as a ceasefire held. Hamas released the last 20 living Israeli hostages after just over two years in captivity, while Israel freed nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees, some sent abroad. Scenes of reunions and celebrations filled Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square. Aid rolled into Gaza, but major questions remain: Israel still holds roughly half the territory, Hamas has not agreed to disarm or exit governance, and an interim technocrat administration is undefined. Trump will attend a signing in Egypt; Mahmoud Abbas plans to participate.
