CBS News to Overhaul Saturday Morning Show After Paramount Layoffs

Paramount Global’s latest layoffs are reshaping CBS News, people familiar said, trimming approximately 100 jobs and gutting the “Saturday Morning” staff, despite recent ratings strength. Anchors Dana Jacboson and Michelle Miller and executive producer Brian Applegate are expected to leave, with weekday producers taking over the show. CBS will shut its Johannesburg bureau, shift oversight to London, and part ways with correspondent Deb Patta. The race-and-culture unit will be scaled back, and streaming companions “CBS Evening News Plus” and “CBS Mornings Plus” will be canceled. John Dickerson’s departure is expected at the end of the year.
