Fired Justice Department lawyer Erez Reuveni has gone public with claims that officials pushed mass deportations while sidelining due process. Newly promoted to an immigration post, he says he was told the administration would invoke the Alien Enemies Act to expel more than 100 Venezuelans and to proceed even if a court objected. Planes departed during a hearing; a subsequent order to halt removals and return passengers was not carried out. Reuveni refused to label mistakenly deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia a terrorist and was fired. Emil Bove denied the allegations. Courts and a Supreme Court ruling stressed due process.
