Taylor Sheridan, the hitmaker behind Yellowstone and Landman, will leave Paramount for NBCUniversal when his TV pact ends in late 2028, with the new deal starting in early 2029. Orchestrated by entertainment chairman Donna Langley, the agreement lets him make films as well as shows, and he may begin movies sooner. The switch is a boon for NBCUniversal and Peacock, and a blow to Paramount, which under new chief executive David Ellison is on a spending spree while preparing layoffs. Paramount will still control any Sheridan series made over the next three years and own future episodes of ongoing shows.
