Helicopter crashes in Huntington Beach, California; 5 hospitalized

Five people were hospitalized after a helicopter crashed Saturday afternoon into palm trees in a Huntington Beach parking lot, officials said. Videos on social media show the aircraft flying low, then suddenly climbing, spinning several times and dropping near restaurants, hotels and public beach access. The helicopter was linked to the Cars 'N Copters event scheduled for Oct. 12 to benefit the Huntington Beach Police and Community Foundation. The victims’ conditions were not immediately available. Authorities said the Oct. 11 crash remains under investigation.
