President Donald Trump said Saturday he ordered the Defense Department to prepare for possible action in Nigeria over alleged killings of Christians, threatening to halt U.S. aid and even go in to wipe out Islamic terrorists. His warning followed his move to label Nigeria a country of particular concern for severe violations of religious freedom, joining a list that includes China, Cuba and North Korea. Nigeria’s government responded that it remains committed to combating violent extremism and affirmed respect for faith, tolerance and diversity within a rules-based international order.
