Texas Wins in OT as Manning Exits

No. 22 Texas outlasted Mississippi State 45-38 in overtime, but quarterback Arch Manning exited after his helmet hit the turf on a 13-yard run to open OT. He struggled to stand and was later in the medical tent; coach Steve Sarkisian offered no update, saying more would be known back in Austin. Backup Matthew Caldwell immediately threw a 10-yard TD to Emmett Mosley V, capping a rally from 17 down in the fourth. Manning posted a career-high 346 yards and three TDs, while Ryan Niblett’s 79-yard punt return forged the late tie.
