China to buy US soybeans for three years

China agreed to buy 25 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans annually under a three-year deal reached by its leaders, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday. He said China will start with 12 million metric tons between now and January. In an interview on Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria, Bessent said soybean farmers had been used as political pawns by China, that this is now off the table, and that they should prosper in the years ahead.
