4 family members of Illinois candidate's family killed in helicopter crash

Four relatives of Illinois gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey were killed in a helicopter crash in eastern Montana, his campaign said. Bailey’s son Zachary, daughter‑in‑law Kelsey, and their children, Vada Rose, 12, and Samuel, 7, died when the aircraft went down near Ekalaka early Wednesday evening; a third child was not aboard. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. Bailey’s family said they are heartbroken and leaning on faith, while Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois GOP chair offered condolences. Bailey, a former state lawmaker, is again seeking the GOP nomination.
