Israel said remains of three people transferred by Hamas to the Red Cross this week are not those of any hostages, a twist that could erode the U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The bodies arrived late Friday after Israel returned 30 Palestinians to Gaza, following militants’ earlier handover of two hostages’ remains. Officials, speaking anonymously, said it’s unknown who the three are or why they were sent. Since the Oct. 10 truce, militants have released remains of 17 hostages, with 11 still to be returned, while Israel has repatriated 225 Palestinian bodies, only 75 identified.
