Americans say country off track under Trump

Two-thirds of Americans say the country is on the wrong track, an ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll finds, though that share is down from 75% in November 2024. A slim majority says the economy has worsened since President Donald Trump took office, and 59% disapprove of his job performance; majorities fault his handling of key issues and about six in ten blame him for inflation. Sixty-four percent say he is going too far to expand presidential power. More respondents call Democrats out of touch than Trump or Republicans. The Oct. 24-28, 2025, poll surveyed 2,725 adults.
