Donald Trump again raised the idea of a 2028 run despite the 22nd Amendment’s two-term limit, brandishing “Trump 2028” merch as Steve Bannon touts a plan to keep him in office. He told reporters, “Am I not ruling it out, you will have to tell me.” One floated theory puts JD Vance atop the ticket with Trump as vice president, followed by a resignation—but the 12th Amendment bars anyone ineligible for the presidency from being vice president. Trump said he’d be “allowed to” run yet called the idea “too cute.” Rep. Andy Ogles has proposed permitting a third term.
