California Man Charged for Threatening Benny Johnson

Federal authorities charged 69-year-old George Russell Isbell Jr. of San Diego with mailing a violent threat to conservative influencer Benny Johnson, who appeared beside Attorney General Pam Bondi as the charges were announced. The letter called Johnson a “prostrating Trump boot licker,” wished for his death and harm, and referenced an uncle who “drowned in the Rhine River.” The FBI says Isbell’s fingerprints were on the note, along with those of Johnson’s wife, a security staffer, and a UPS employee. Prosecutors filed one count of mailing threatening communications and sought detention. Bondi decried a “horrific cycle of political violence.”
