Two Arrested in Ian Watkins Prison Stabbing

Two men, ages 25 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of murder after Ian Watkins—the Lostprophets singer and convicted pedophile—was fatally stabbed at HMP Wakefield on Saturday. Police have not named the suspects as a murder inquiry proceeds, the BBC reported. Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year sentence for 13 offenses, including attempted rape of a fan’s baby. He was previously attacked in 2023. The killing comes weeks after an inspector’s report warned that violence had increased markedly at the notorious West Yorkshire prison.
