Suspect held in waterfront bar shooting that left 3 dead in North Carolina

A gunman attacked a bar in Southport, N.C., from his boat Saturday night, killing three and wounding five. Nigel Edge was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police believe the attack was premeditated and that Edge acted alone. The victims were a mix of locals and tourists. The weapon used was an assault rifle, and the suspect is known to law enforcement but had no prior significant record. The American Fish Company bar will remain closed indefinitely.
