Lions, Chiefs brawl after Kansas City’s 30-17 win on Sunday night

Tensions flared after the Chiefs’ 30-17 win when Lions defensive back Brian Branch slapped the helmet of JuJu Smith-Schuster, igniting a scrum that left Patrick Mahomes under a pile before he was pulled to safety. Moments earlier, Branch had ignored Mahomes’ handshake. He later said he reacted to what he called an illegal block, apologized, and labeled it “childish.” Smith-Schuster said he was bleeding and defended his block as within the play.
