Chiefs rout Commanders after second-half surge

The Chiefs shook off a shaky start and routed the Commanders 28-7, their third straight win to reach 5-3. After two Patrick Mahomes interceptions and a 7-7 half, Kansas City dominated, outgaining Washington 432-260. Mahomes threw second-half touchdowns to Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice; Kelce’s score was his 83rd, tying Priest Holmes for the team record. Mahomes finished with 299 yards. Kelce had 99 yards; Rice 93. Isiah Pacheco later limped off. For Washington, Marcus Mariota started for injured Jayden Daniels, hit Terry McLaurin for the lone touchdown, and the club left with multiple injuries.
