The Justice Department will send election monitors to six counties in California and New Jersey ahead of the November 4 vote to bolster transparency and ballot security. The move follows requests from the Republican parties in both states alleging irregularities and comes as debunked 2020 fraud claims persist among many Republicans. Monitors will be in Passaic, and in Kern, Riverside, Fresno, Orange and Los Angeles. Local officials said observers are routine and welcome; Orange County was told two federal attorneys will watch Nov. 4–7, and AG Pam Bondi pledged to uphold election integrity.
