US strike kills three alleged smugglers in Caribbean

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Saturday the U.S. military carried out another lethal strike on alleged drug smugglers in the Caribbean Sea, killing three people on a vessel he said was operated by a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. It is at least the 15th strike since early September, with at least 64 people killed overall. Trump has defended the attacks as an “armed conflict” with drug cartels under the same authority invoked after Sept. 11, 2001, while lawmakers press for legal justification and targeting details, renewing demands in a Friday letter as Senate Armed Services leaders publicized earlier requests.
