King Charles’ brother Andrew to be stripped of ‘prince’ title and evicted from royal mansion

Britain’s King Charles has begun formally stripping Prince Andrew of his styles, titles and honors and has served notice to end his Royal Lodge lease, Buckingham Palace said Thursday in an extraordinary step. Andrew will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and will move to privately funded accommodation on the Sandringham estate. The move follows renewed scrutiny after Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir alleging he assaulted her as a teenager; he denies it. The palace cited serious lapses of judgment and voiced sympathy for abuse survivors. The government backed the decision as activists pressed for legal action.
