U.S. Detains British Commentator Sami Hamdi, Revokes Visa

U.S. immigration authorities detained British commentator Sami Hamdi, revoked his visa and said he will be deported, halting his tour, a DHS official said Sunday. ICE has him in custody, a DHS spokesperson wrote on X, citing a policy barring those deemed to support terrorism. CAIR said Hamdi was seized at San Francisco International Airport after speaking at its Sacramento gala and before a planned Florida event; it called for his release and tied the move to his criticism of Israel. Activists had urged his expulsion, with Laura Loomer claiming credit. Reuters and CAIR lawyers could not reach him.
