FIFA unveils peace prize for World Cup

FIFA announced a new FIFA Peace Prize, to be awarded at the World Cup draw on Dec. 5 in Washington, honoring exceptional actions for peace. President Gianni Infantino called it vital to recognize those who end conflicts and unite people. He will present the award this year, and FIFA said it will be bestowed annually on behalf of fans worldwide. The news came as Donald Trump, passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize last month, and Infantino were set to speak in Miami; FIFA also tapped Ivanka Trump for a $100 million education project board.
