Elon Musk backs Andrew Cuomo in NYC race

Elon Musk publicly endorsed former Gov. Andrew Cuomo for New York City mayor, urging voters to back his independent bid over Democrat Zohran Mamdani and warning that a vote for Republican Curtis Sliwa effectively helps Mamdani. The move follows Musk’s criticism of Mamdani, who attacked Cuomo for approving $959 million in tax breaks tied to a Musk-linked solar panel venture. Sliwa echoed the hit, calling the Buffalo project a failure and saying Musk “couldn’t care less” about the city. Cuomo and Mamdani didn’t comment. Other billionaires opposing Mamdani include Mike Bloomberg, Joe Gebbia, and Bill Ackman.
