Two Navy Aircraft Down in South China Sea

A U.S. Navy helicopter and a fighter jet conducting routine operations from the USS Nimitz went down in the South China Sea about 30 minutes apart Sunday, the U.S. Pacific Fleet said. The MH-60R Sea Hawk crashed at about 2:45 p.m. local time and all three crew were safely recovered. At 3:15 p.m., an F/A-18F Super Hornet from the "Fighting Redcocks" of VFA-22 also went down; both crew ejected and were safely recovered. All personnel are stable as causes are investigated.
